At the iconic Tawang Monastery (Gaden Namgyal Lhatse) the largest Buddhist monastery in India and the second largest in the world, founded around 1680-81.
The Tawang Monastery holds a special civilisational significance for India and the Buddhist world.
There has been a significant increase in the number of people visiting Tawang Monastery,
from across India in the last few years. May the numbers keep increasing.
Was especially happy to note the significant number of visitors from West Bengal frequenting the Monastery.
The Monastery courtyard wore a festive look, getting ready to welcome the sacred Relics of Lord Buddha on 31st October, another historic moment for the town, the state and the region.
Was warmly welcomed by Lama Thuptan, secretary of the Monastery.
