At the iconic Ayutthya – ‘Ayodhya’- ancient capital of the Siamese Kingdom between 14th – 18th century. Once a vast cosmopolitan city, one of the vibrant carrefours of the ancient world – a global entrepôt of ideas, philosophy, culture, art, trade and commerce. Designed along a systematic and planned grid of roads, moats, canals and comprising of gigantic Buddhist monasteries and centres of learning, their towers and stupas played in gold. Destroyed by the Burmese in 1767, the city was never rebuilt…

Went on a river cruise along the River Menam and visited and old palace and museum. They saw the boat market. They had lunch on a house-boat, belonging to the local administrator.
