Her focus is on BJP, not on ‘dudhel gais’: Amit Malviya slams Mamata after Suvendu asked not to visit Howrah

Kolkata: BJP’s Amit Malviya on Sunday hit out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after Suvendu Adhikari was asked not to visit violence-hit Howrah. Adhikari on Saturday announced that he would visit Howrah today. However, today the police asked him not to visit the district as curfew was in force.

“You are informed that prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC has been promulgated in Howrah Rural Police District and parts of Howrah Police Commissionerate. Also, Calcutta High Court has issued necessary directives regarding your security arrangements. Keeping in view the order of High Court, you are hereby advised not to visit Howrah Rural Police district and parts of Howrah Police Commissionerate areas where section 144 CrPC is in effect,” said the inspector in-charge of Contai Police Station, Purba Medinipur.

Sharing the order, Malviya said Mamata Banerjee’s focus is on the BJP, not on those who indulge in the violence. “After putting BJP WB President Sukanta Majumdar under detention, Mamata Banerjee is now ensuring that LoP Suvendu Adhikari is not able to visit Howrah, where BJP offices have been gutted. Her entire focus is on the opposition, not on rampaging “Dudhel Gais” (milch cows), as she calls them,” the BJP leader said.

Malviya was referring to a statement when Mamata Banerjee had referred to Muslims as milk yielding cows.
BJP’s Anirban Ganguly also slammed Mamata Banerjee for allegedly being soft on Muslim protesters. Sharing a video, he said: “This is what they are saying: “#MamataBanerjee is Chief Minister because we made her so”, do you agree @MamataOfficial? Is that why you have still taken no action against arsonists, rioters & refused to apply the rule of law on them?”

In another tweet, the BJP leader shared a video in which vandalism and fire can be seen on a highway. “This is not BJP’s, but your CURSE on #WestBengal @MamataOfficial! The sooner you realise that this is your “vote bank” which will lead you to doom, the better it will be for you & for the future of #WestBengal,” he said.

In Howrah, violence had broken out on Friday during a protest over comments on Prophet Muhammad. A day before this, a national highway was blocked for 11 hours and traffic was disrupted. The protesters resorted to stone-pelting, set vehicles on fire and vandalised two offices of the BJP.
On Saturday, West Bengal BJP chief Sukanata Majumdar was arrested while he was on his way to Howrah.
