On the occasion of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya’s 110 Jayanti delivered the keynote address at Sidhu-Kanhu-Birsha University in Purulia, on Vision of #ViksitBharat as envisaged by #SwamiVivekananda, Dr #SyamaPrasadMookeerjee & Pt. #DeenDayalUpadhyay. Vice Chancellor Prof Prabir Kumar Chakrabarti presided.

Writing a little over a year after independence on 18 November 1948, Deendayal Ji wrote: “The endeavour must be to make India powerful in every way” & “The forces of fragmentation must be destroyed and Indian unity must be furthers,” & “We must not be trapped in intellectual slavery in the process of emulating others.”

PM Modi’s has set goal and ideal of #ViksitBharat @2047, in #AmritKaal that is the paramount national goal. Reiterated his call to “take a pledge” to “free ourselves from Macaulay’s mentality of slavery in the next 10 years – 2035,” the 200th year of Macaulay’s infamous minutes on education.

Recalled the contributions of iconic Janajati leader, Jaipal Singh Munda, Member of the Constituent Assembly, captain of the gold-medal winning Indian Hockey team in 1928.

Met scholars, historians and young researchers. Historian Prof Gautam Mukhopadhyay presented me with his latest book “Bharattattva Charcha O Bangali Manisha.” Was happy to interact with him.
