Was happy to interact with veteran scholar, thinker and author from Nepal Prof Hari Bansh Jha. An old associate, Prof Jha has contributed to our publications and is a well known public policy expert and presently Executive Director of the Centre for Economic & Technical Studies (CETS), Nepal.
He is now intensely focusing on cultural & civilisational issues and linkages especially focusing on the Ramayana heritage.
Was happy to receive some of his latest works, the most interesting among them being his painstakingly researched “Rediscovering the Janakpur Ayodhya Corridor of the Ramayana Era: Its Relevance Today.” He has travelled the entire region documenting these civilisational and Dharmic linkages.
Looking forward to reading it and to discussing it.
“Prime Minister Modi visited Janakpur again in 2018, bringing international attention to Janaki Mandir. Following this visit, the number of pilgrims increased dramatically, nearly quadrupling, reflecting the temple’s growing prominence as a spiritual and cultural site.” (p.24)
