Pathankot-to-Jammu-to-Srinagar through – Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Tunnel:

A unique edifice, it is India’s longest highway tunnel, at 9.28 km, Asia’s longest bi-directional highway tunnel, elevation 1200 metres, on one of Himalayas most difficult terrain, it has a fully integrated control system, constructed at a cost Rs 3720 crore, cuts down 31 km travel distance, reduces travel time between Udhampur and Ramban by 2 hours in mountainous terrain. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s first tenure saw him complete it and inaugurate it. 94 per cent of the workforce was from the state of J&K. A most fitting tribute to one of Bharatmata’s greatest and noblest sons!
