Had the honour of participating in Dr Syama Prasad Mookerje’s 125th Birth Anniversary commemoration curtain raiser by the Union Ministry of Culture in New Delhi. Union Minister for Culture & Tourism Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Union Minister for Science & Technology, and seniormost amongst us Dr Mahesh Chandra Sharma were present. A commemorative stamp and coin was released on the occasion by Union Minister for Culture. An

inspiring “street play” on the life of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee was staged by young artists as were cultural programmes by Gen Z artists. A moving short documentary, specially produced for the occasion, was also screened. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, embodying the ideals, hopes, vision and aspirations of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee is realising his dreams of a #ViksitBharat in every sphere of our national life. Let us, for the next two years, resolve to dedicate our energies to commemorate and celebrate Dr Mookerjee’s life, his contributions and ideals. Realising #ViksitBharat2047 will the greatest tribute to his sacrifice and leadership.
