In Jangipur, Murshidabad, visited the “Shivaji Sangha” #DurgaPuja and conferred the “Syama Prasad Durgotsav Samman”. Spoke of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s contribtuion to preserving and promoting Bengal’s cultural heritage, of PM Shri Narendra Modi’s indefatigable effort to preserve various cultural dimensions of Bharat, of his successful effort to get the #UNESCO Intangible Heritage tag for #DurgaPuja – a proud moment for every Indian and Bengali. Urged all to take a pledge to ensure that never in future should Bengali Hindus have to take recourse to Courts to observe Durga Puja. A difficult district, was happy to see the resolve and enthusiasm in organising #DurgaPuja2023.
