On #MahaNavami at dear friend Vikramjit Banerjee’s family #DurgaPuja in its 225th year, in Telinipara, Hooghly. The Puja is being held, as always, at the famous Annapurna Mandir in Telinipara, was a moving experience to have #MaaDurga’s darshan in this historic precinct.

In Jayanagar-Majilpur, gateway to the Sunderbans estuary, took part in #MahaNavami Aarati at the 450 years old #DurgaPuja of the Matilal family, affiliated to eminent philosopher, Padmabhushan, late Bimal Krishna Matilal, who taught in Oxford & was born in Jayanagar.

On #MahaNavami in Sarada-Ramakrishna Seva Mission in South 24Prgs. Always feel happy to spend time here with Mata Ji & other members of the Ashram who are doing selfless service for the underprivileged. #Durgapuja2022

On #MahaAshtami visited a number of #DurgaPuja organised by well known media personalities. Started with veteran journalist & BJP state spokesperson Shri Sanmoy Banerjee’s “barir” #DurgaPuja. Was happy to meet our young karykartas & to see them actively organise the Puja.

In Satgacchia, Purba Burdwan, inaugurated #DurgaPuja bookstall organised by BJP. Was deeply touched by their warm welcome, despite my running late. Donated books & briefly addressed our karyakartas on the uniqueness of the #UNESCO heritage tag & #ModiGovt’s historic effort!

Visited the #DurgaPuja organised & led by Matri Shakti & had prasad & interacted with the organisers. Inspiring to see our women karykartas & leaders take a frontline role in organising #DurgaPujo2022

In Bolpur on #MahaSaptami visited the historic 288 years old Surul Rajbari #DurgaPuja. Was joined by our karyakarta friends & leaders. Was happy to meet the scion of the Surul Rajbari Sh Soumen Sircar & other members. This Puja fits perfectly into the #UNESCO heritage narrative.
