Had the opportunity of presenting my book “From Partition to Progress: Persecuted Hindus and the Struggle for Citizenship” to veteran journalist-editor, author, public intellectual & activist Shri Ram Bahadur Rai. He is currently the President of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi. In my numerous conversations with him I have always noticed an undiminished intellectual curiosity permeate Shri Rai’s interactions and discussions. A prolific writer himself, his unfailing encouragement and his huge reservoir of information is always energising. We discussed various dimensions of the book, especially the sections on 1971 Bangladesh liberation war, persecution of Hindus by the pro Pakistan Razakar-Jamaat and also the period of 2001 to 2005 when the BNP-Jamaat coalition took over unleashed persecution on Hindus and Buddhists.
