As always, a happy & enriching meeting with Amb Satish Chandra, and to present him my book “From Partition to Progress”. Veteran diplomat-scholar, in a distinguished career, Amb Chandra served as High Commissioner to Pakistan, Ambassador to Philippines, Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, had the distinction of setting up the National Security Council Sect. during NDA-1, of serving as the Chairman of Jt Intelligence Committee (JIC) and as India’s first Deputy NSA. An interesting bit, Amb Chandra’s father, C.N.Chandra ICS, was India’s first Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner. He passed the ICS the same year as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Always a happy feeling discussing a wide range of issues with Amb Chandra who is a repository of information. Privilege to be addressed by him as “my friend.”
