He said why it was only one state where the ruling party was allergic to the Tiranga. “Why is it that only in one state, the ruling party is allergic to the Tiranga? Why is it that its leaders give a free run to extortionists, cattle thieves, thugs, and rent-seekers but have probleming out Tiranga rally in his assembly constituency, Nandigram. In a series of tweets, Adhikari said he was leading the Tiranga yatra but was obstructed by the police on the ground that he did not have permission.

“While leading the Tiranga Yatra at Nandigram today, where the public in general assembled with the Indian National Flag and marched alongside me, chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” slogan; Anti National Mamata Police obstructed our way and told us that we don’t have permission to do this,” he said in a tweet.

He said he was campaigning for “Har Ghar Tiranga” to make people aware of PM Narendra Modi’s clarion call to hoist the Tiranga at their house from August 13 to August 15. “Nobody was carrying any political party’s flag, only the Indian National Flag. Is it a crime to do so in West Bengal?” he asked.

The BJP MLA then said that Additional SP Haldia Shraddha N Pandey did this on the instructions of Medinipur SP Amarnath K, who was carrying out orders of DGP Manoj Malaviya. “What a shame! Where are we living? A procession to campaign for hoisting the Indian National Flag is prohibited. Does the WB Administration feel that the state isn’t a part of India?” he said.
